The Conference Centre
Built in 1938 and standing in its own grounds on the historical site of the former RAF Stradishall, Stirling House was the home and recreational quarters of the flight officers of Bomber Command during World War II and the delightful old building still retains many of its original features.
Over the past sixty five years Stirling House has experienced a chequered history, operating as a flight school for the RAF, a transit camp for displaced Ugandan refugees and even as an open prison. More recently this grand old building, now owned by the National Offender Management Service, has been restored into a residential conference centre and is now open for hire to groups, companies and for private functions.
Hold your event in one of the original rooms where the brave young officers of Bomber Command held their legendary dances and sleep in one of the very bedrooms that were, for the war years, their home.

Conference Rooms
Stirling House has three large conference rooms each capable of holding between 50 – 100 guests (depending on layout).
There are also ten other rooms available which are suitable for smaller meetings, interviews or for use as syndicate rooms.
All rooms can be supplied with laptops, screens, projectors, flip charts and paper/pens.
Catering

Stirling House provides a fully comprehensive catering service. The Wellington Dining Room has a daily choice of menu, including a wide range of delicious hot food, a cold salad bar and a selection of sweets in a comfortable and informal setting. Individual and medical diets can also be catered for. Buffets and special occasion meals are available on request. |

| Address: Stirling House Training & Conference Centre Stradishall Suffolk CB8 9YL From the South: M11 to A11 follows signs for Haverhill until you reach the exit signposted A1307 Cambridge/Haverhill. At the roundabout turn right onto the A1307 towards Haverhill. From Haverhill join the A143 towards Bury St Edmunds. Follow the road for approximately 7 miles (passing Wychem Ltd on your left) and you will see the signpost for HMP Highpoint HMP Edmunds Hill and Stirling House. The entrance to Stirling House is situated on the right hand side on a very sharp s bend. From the North: M11 (southbound) and exit J10. At the roundabout exit for the A505 Duxford/Newmarket. Continue on the A505 (across two more roundabouts) until you reach a small dual carriageway. Stay in the inside lane and filter off for the A1307 roundabout, direction Haverhill, for 11 miles as above. |

From Newmarket: take the B1063t towards Clare. At the crossroads with the A143, turn right towards Haverhill. Continue for approximately a mile, passing both Highpoint Prison on the left and Edmunds Hill on the left. Stirling House is situated on the left on a very sharp s bend.
